Unkown plug on lower unit?

I have a 1991 15 hp Johnson Outboard. I just got it and its missing this plug on the side of the lower unit. I had a '78 15 hp johnson and if I remember right it did not have this plug. I cannot find it anywhere online and don't know what's supposed to be in there! :mad-new: Any help is appreciated. thank You!

EDIT: nevermind... was working on a tiny laptop and what I was looking at before looks to be a chip in the paint... couldn't see the hole.... Have it on a 47" screen now and yeah ... exhaust drain hole

looks to be an exhaust housing drain hole to me and it's just doing its intended function...a few decarb treatments might help clear up the "ooze"
