I removed the flywheel using "harmonic balancer puller" like Kbait pictured, am now in process of getting the crankcase/cylinder split apart. Good news is I am not finding any seized bolts yet. Removed the 6 bolts that secure the cylinder/crankcase to lower cover/pan (or is it the midsection).

Question: to save disassembly and reassembly time, is it possible to access the piston/rods half of the cylinder/crankcase while leaving the intake manifold, recoil starter and carburetor attached to the other half of the cylinder/crankcase, all this while remaining attached to the lower cover/pan? In other words, remove only the piston/rods half? Also this might be necessary if driveshaft is seized to crankshaft...

I doubt you will be able to assemble the needle bearings .----Trust me you do not leave the intake manifold, starter , carburetor in place !!---You may find that the reed plate hides a couple off bolts !!------Take every thing apart !

Disassembly is going OK, I am now ready to separate the Powerhead from Drive Shaft (hopefully not seized/frozen). Can anybody please confirm that there are only 6 bolts (that I have already removed) securing the Powerhead to Midsection (through the Lower Cover)? Thanks!

6 screws -- then lift the powerhead up along with the attached inner exhaust tube (held to the p.head by another 6(?) screws. You may need to use a putty knife and rubber hammer to gently free up the powerhead.
