Hi 2Kboat<br /><br />The sensors are resistance giving, which should give no problems is you install a switch to change head you read temp on. Gauge will drop to Zero at every switch, will be similar to turning ignition off. See no reason it should harm anything. Good idea.

bubbakat- i just followed rowhomes basic design & modified it from what i had laying around.<br />its kinda big, in pic- its sitting inside my spare 140 hood.<br />but it works great.<br />still havent found my stevens- hopefully someone found it instead of getting burned at dump.<br />-<br />bought used t/t today should be in by end of next week.

new-used t/t is sitting at ups waiting to be delivered.<br />showed up wed when i wasnt home- have to wait til monday.

got t/t unit, so much for trying to be cheap.<br />unit has water mixed with the dextron, looks like a strawberry shake.<br />apparently when the motor was replaced one of the 4 bolts had snapped & whoever put it on just tightened up the 3 and set the other in the hole.<br />along with lower pin being seized & mushroomed on one side.<br />-<br />water passed threw that corner, you can sea the corrosion stain.<br />the motor looks almost new, but at that corner the bottom ceramic is chipped on the outer bolt mating surface. (that was also stuck on)<br />-<br />if i end up having to keep this thing can i still use the motor with that chip out of the corner?<br />between the bolt hole & oring is fine.<br />i have the piece, is there something i can use to re-attach? (jb weld, epoxy)

will try again<br />is there an easy way to attach t/t motor back on with the corner chipped out but ony on out side of hole.<br />hole between & surface to oring are ok?<br />-<br />then what is the proper way to disconnect motor, to avoid leakage.? all pistons extended or retracted? thanx

Sorry - I havnt been much helpfull to you.<br /><br />I dont remember exactly how it looks, but is it possible to make a ring out of stainless sheet metal with the four "ears" on it. It should have a hole cut out in middle, same dia as motor body.

finally got a replacement t/t.<br />looks good, but fresh paint hides alot.<br />will try it in the next day or 2.

put t/t unit into place, cycled it to make sure of no air.<br />i let it sit for about a week tilted up just <br />1-inch off of trailering support to sea if it would leak down.<br />it stayed put.<br />as soon as the weather permits will put it back in the water.
