I think it looks nice but judge for your self.

Sorry for getting off topic.
I got a little side tracked waiting for my parts but will keep it on TOPIC from now on.

So now that some of my parts came in.
Spark plugs/ wires
thermostat
impeller
carb rebuild kit.

I installed all of the above.
I also sea-foamed the motor.
The engine starts up right away only in high idle.

Now the problem I have is that it will not idle..
She runs fine when given a little gas but when I put her in neutral to idle the engine dies out.

What am I missing?
Do I need to adjust the carbs?

Thanks for all the help and advice.

You should adjust the carbs per the manual, but your problem with idling could be plain old bad gas. You said it sat for 7 years. If that's not it, you should check the fuel filters.

thanks for the advice!
Yes she sat for about 7 years!
I will be replaceing my fuel filter and by pass the fuel tank and use a little 6 gallon tank with good fuel and see if that helps.
I'll keep you guys updated!

Well today I went and changed out the fuel filter and i adjusted the idle on the carb and she idles great!
when I changed out the filter the fuel "looked to be clean" but there was rust and corrosion all around the filter.
The fuel showed no sigh of gunk and debris.

Now the only problem I have with the motor is that I need to pump the throttle about three times before I can start her.

I know she is a little old but is there anything I can do to cure this?

I mean I don't really mind but I like to do everything I can to make sure I have a seaworthy boat to take out my family.

After I pump the throttle a few times she starts right up and purrs..
Idles really nice at 750 rpms.
I let her idle for a LONG time.(to burn some of the old fuel)
She was smoking really bad when I first got her started but after I sea-foamed and tuned her up a bit she is running very nice.(very little smoke)
I plan on taking apart the intake manifold and valve covers to give them a face lift.

I'm waiting on a few other parts to come in and RIGHT after I install them I will be taking her out to get a little wet.
Only by myself of course!

Is the choke working?

Do you have to pump the throttle to get it started when its already warmed up?

If its the first start of the day, its normal to pump the throttle a couple of times...

Sometimes she would start up without the pumping when warm.
I'll look into the choke and see if it working.

Thank you for your help!

Great news!
So I had a problem with it starting up with out pumping the throttle.
I changed all the fuel filters again (even the one inside the carb)
to make sure the fuel was clean.
I checked the choke and it looks to be working just fine.

Now I pump the throttle about 5 times on the first start of the day.
Starts right up on the first try and idles very smoothly.
I shut it off and wait about 5 min and crank it to start it up again and it starts right up!
I do this a few times to make sure and everytime it starts right up.
Thanks for all the help and advice!

Now I just need to pretty her up a bit.

I plan on removing all the interior in the boat and customing bench seating all around and have just one capatain seat at the wheel. ( but that's another section of the forums)
