Re: UPDATED: I had a feeling I was over-propped...

FINALLY.

All kids were busy, so my fiance and I headed 'down the shore' and got a day of 'us' time on Sunday.

During the week, I had my marina swap props with the one my rack neighbor had removed and was selling. So I went back down to the stock 23 pitch, but this newer prop is a 23p Mirage Plus (M+). The M+ has cupping, which as far as I know the Mirage does not.

Well, she lost her hat (which we spun around and retrieved), but my fiance witnessed a 63 MPH GPS pass without leaning on it much. We got in a 64 MPH pass and I still didn't lean on it too much or wait it out. I was trimmed up well, but might have had a chance to get some more. Low 60's were easy to come by. From experience, leaning on it probably had another 2mph or so, but I am only interested in top speed recordings for overall setup/health of the boat.

I was under 5k RPMs... maybe 4900 and barely change... I wish I would have watched the tach more. I was happy when she wasn't hitting a wall down near 44 or 45 hundred then I moved the eyes to the GPS. Too much going on as my speed runs were in the Cape May canal and intercoastal waterway.

Ain't no flat water along the Atlantic Ocean on a Sunday, and the intercoastal waterway and back bays/sounds are wake ridden. I would have loved some basic light chop or flat/glass water (hang around til 7pm and it'll be there), but t-storms were popping up everywhere.

This is just about as light a load this boat is gonna see unless I boat alone.

I am happy. Oh, what I like is the 'feel' it now has from 50-60. It's happier in that range and just seems more connected. I don't see 60+ much in my future (UnderArmor hats are expensive!) but it's just more fun/flexible in that 50-60 range.
