Im taking my boat out this coming weekend, well if I can get the old tart to go I will, she wont start, its highly possible I have flooded the carbs out, the primer bulb on my tank doesnty go hard when the carbs are full so I just kept on squeezing thinking there was a problem with the fuel hose, so i pulled the hose of the filter and pumped and its pouring fuel out, I pulled the plugs and they were wet and oily, I ran the batt flat trying to start it using plenty of choke and nothing, I tested the spark at the leads and theres no problem there plenty spark, so Ive cleaned the plugs up and have the batt on the charger, Ive left the plugs out so the fuel can evaporate over night, does flooding cause this no starting biz? Ive owned lots of old Chrys and never had one that wouldnt kick easily, now Im pannicking as I dont want to leave it home Im busting to get her out, can someone give me some advice on where to look next, also the factory starting procedure if anyone has it, my procedure with Chrys has always been prime till bulb goes hard, pull the throttle lock out open the throttle, push and turn key and usually they fart into life ok

Problem sorted she just started, seems she may have been not getting enough fuel, I pumped the hell out of it I thought if your not flooded after this you never will be so with a near flat battery just enough to turn her she coughed once I thought thats it for the battery for tonite, waited 3 secs and hit it again and she fired and sat there idling with out the need for extra choke to keep her running so I ran ot for 10 mins stopping and starting and its faultless that way so I yanked the line of the tank and let her run until she stopped , I always run my engines until there out of fuel, prevents the fuel and oil separating in the bowls, I did clean the filter out there was some verdigras inside the black cover and the screen seems fine, I pulled all the fuel pipes I could and had a look so hopefully whilst Im out at Durras on the weekend she wont let me down.

If the squeezie doesn't firm up??? It could be a bad squeezie. or a bad fuel pump diapham or a bad needle seat??
Running the carbs dry isn't a good idea. It robs the top cylinder of oil as the lower carbs run out last. It can cause scorring and piston failure.

Problem turned out to be the silly clamps on the primer bulb, she had a mysterious fuel leak, I replaced the clamps for auto screw clamps and the bulb now goes hard, shes starting fine now but Ive started a new thread on my hilarious weekend and explain it all lol
