I had this in the wrong section earlier...

I'm looking for a used etec. Found one locally with new power head, '04 90 hp like I'm looking for. The price is way more than nada.

Used etec's are hard to find, I guess a testament to the product. One of the local dealers quoted $9k for a new one with controls and without installation. I don't want just anyone drilling holes into my wood boat, I would have to have them inspect my install to validate warranty.

If you think you've posted a topic in the wrong forum, PM any Mod and we can move it for you.

Merged the 2 etec topics and left them here in Non-repair discussions

I would let the dealer install it they have templates they can do it much easier than you. Setting up an E-Tec is not like setting up a carb motor best left to the dealer. As far as price kinda goes off what people will pay NADA is a suggestion.

$5500 for the used one still sounds a little steep for me... A new tohatsu isn't much more than that.
