Used motor parts????

Hi, well i tried replacing the coils on my 35 hp, no sparks, compression checks out, no spark, replaced wiring, no spark. The only thing left I can do is get a new powerpack since the one thats on their looks fried. Also, I noticed its been taken off alot with wohever had it first, the screws are stripped and they dont match, so im banking that could be my prob. Anyone know where I can find a used pack? any suggestions? my serial is 0B149149 35 HP 1987 Mercury power trim, thanks...

Changing parts gets very expencive test them first heres the test

Thanks for the response. I brought it to a mechanic that someone recommended. My boat has been sittin there for a week and he hasnt even looked at it. I over heard him talking to someone on the phone sayin how he aint doin nothing for a couple weeks. Forget that im just gonna go get my motor and try to fix it myself. He just looked at it and said it needed a powerpack didnt even test it out. I'd rather do it myself. What kind of tools do I need to begin my testing?

Google this multi meter number. It has a DVA setting. iboats.com and some other places sell these. Htey are made by the same guys that make the Quicksilver model.
