Anyone use it? The directions say remove cap and pour crystals into inner cup and then replace lid. If you replace the lid how does the air get to the crystals?

Re: Using Star brite No Damp

Hi It does not make sense to me either. when my boat arrived in country from the US it was flooded, some how it was flooded in shipping.
I used a shop vac to remove the water but could not leave it open to air dry because of fear of things in it being stolen. I was advised by the guy in the marina to try the star brite but he advised me to use a two old paint buckets one inside the other with holes drilled in the bottom corners, this way i had biger containers than the original. I actually used some plastic 1/2 gal containers that fit into each other partially to create the double container,
, but the holes i driled may have been too small. when i returned 2 days later all the top containers, i had 6 with about half pk of the granules in each, were full with water (well with the stuff dissolved in it.) I just emptied all and got some more granules and started the process again. this actually totally dried out my boat carpet. and some how with no mouldy smell left behind.
note i never had a cover for any of the containers.

No Fuss.

I've used it for many years. DON'T replace the lid. The container needs to stay open so air can circulate around the crystals in the cup. You'll know it's working if there's water in the bottom after a week or so.
