Im looking at picking up a used utility trailer in the next few weeks. I would like to put a new finish on the frame instead of the chipping paint that is on it. I have a few different options in mind but, want to hear the options that you all have used. (Line-x and Powder Coat) I will strip all the lumber and wiring off of it and have them take it down to bare metal.

I want to do this right the first time and not have to worry about it.

Thanks
Adam

PS. it is a 5x12 trailer with a 6000 lbs axel and electric brakes on it.

Well, I have a 6x16 and the last time(2004), I replaced the lumber, while I had it down, I sprayed black bed liner on it all over.
Like you, I had everything off it but the axles.

Spray on bed liner is good stuff for a trailer. That has my vote.

Dupont makes a catalyzed industrial enamel for around $50/gal. It wears like iron and nothing cuts it when it's cured...
