V-6 water pump

I just stripped the threads in the water pump base in my 78 175 HP black Max. The two studs are tapped into the foot housing but the one bolt is threaded into the plastic base. Is there a fix for this or do I have to replace the base? I thought about epoxying a stud into the base, is there a reason that this is a bolt rather than a stud?

You can take a small piece of tie wrap and insert in hole an try to retorque it, torque water pump nuts to 50 Ib. in and water pump bolt to 35 Ib. in
