V8 running hotter on the right side???

Just had the empeller changed, out for a weekend at Lake Mohave and the right side is running significantly hotter??? Any ideas???

Running hotter based on what? Whats hotter, the side of the engine block, or the manifold? Could be a restriction in the water line if its a manifold, or it may be failing internally and you're seeing the result of a clog.

What shape was the old impeller in? You might have impeller parts stuck in your cooling system.

The right riser, as well as the water exiting on the right side of the engine is hot to the touch? The impeller wasn't broken and look good. Will pull some hoses when I get home.....fun times!

if hotter on muffs on the trailer, that is common and normal

high side sees less water due to gravity

if you turn the truck and trailer around and park in the same place facing the other direction the other side will be hotter.

Nope, boat was in the water. Water comming out the right side was almost steaming. This morning, I only put it deep enough to see the waterflow, and both side was pumping strong....

Met a new mobile boat mechanic that is reasonable and seems to know what he's doing. Invited him to come over to have a look, dropped the stern into a bucket of water and ran the motor for 10 minutes with no sign of over-heating....WTF? Next time I go out, I will take the IR temps, just so that we have them for reference.

and both side was pumping strong....

Ayuh,.... V-motors Always run hotter on 1 side than the other,...
It's the nature of the plumbing...

Feel the hose going to the starboard exhaust manifold. Is it significanty hotter?

Had a similar problem removed my riser and found it to be clogged restricting the flow of water. Replaced exhuast manifolds and risers to solve problem.
