the only bad experience I had with cl has been missing good deals by not acting fast enough, and selling my truck in less than a day as the phone was ringing off the hook, made me think I should have asked more:facepalm:

Honestly, every car I have bought in the last 5 years(A Lot) and everything I have sold has been through Craigs list, I have never received one spam, I have sold everything for close to what I was asking and I have picked up some great buys.

My gmail account filters out about 90% of the scams before I even see them. The ones that do get through, delete, takes like .3 seconds.

yes, lately there are more scammers on Craigs list. however as most pointed out, the scams are easily identified and ignored.

I have probably bought and sold about 2000 things on craigslist.

We don't use CL in this part of the woods, but Kijiji is used mainly here. I have learned not to put my phone number on it because I get a few random text messages from across Canada. I don't respond to any of them. I only correspond by email.

I just remove the link to email me and put in a different email address as well as put in the ad for them to make the subject something original like my latest ad I was trying to sell some wheels for a ford ranger and I requested that they make the subject line R@ng3r Wh33!$. Most of the scams can't decipher it and it makes it easy to spot. I received no scams, got a bunch of window shoppers but no scams. I thought I had them priced right at a set of 4 with no dents, tires, gouges or deep scratches for $50 for 4. Never did sell them so I scrapped them at the local yard.
