Question Im a new boat owner with an v6 i/o. And I have noticed that the water around the back end of the boat is just like a little bit cloudy kinda looks like there a tiny bit of gas or some oil in there. Its not bad at all but I was just wondering if this is somthing I should look into. Its only after I just stop the boat not sure if it exhaust fumes. Not sure where they come out is it the prop? Let me know if this is normal and if not what it could be boat runs great.

Check the oil in your lower unit. When oil and water are mixed at high speeds the mixture turns a milky white.

How can I check the oil in the lower unit? Also its not really milky white, Ok best way to explain it is when you get a little bit of gas in water it kinda turns the cloudy dirty look. Like polution or somthing.

If its not milky white than its probally not the oil but change it anyway. is the outdrive clean ie oil, grim, dirt. Also check your hydrolic pistons for leaks.

outdrive is clean has no oil or grim or dirt. Lower unit was changed by a marina 2 weeks ago. Is there any way to check the lower unit oil? Havent checked the hyrolic pistions is that for the trim next to the lower unit I have one on each side? And can you check the oil in them? OR IM I JUST BEING WORRIED. QUESTION IS WHEN YOU TURN OFF YOUR BOAT AND WALK TO THE BACK OF THE ENGINE IS THE WATER NICE AND CLEAN OR IS IT A LITTLE DIRTY FROM THE EXHAUST ON THE BOAT? WOULD THE EXHUAST CAUSE THIS? AND WHERE DOES IT COME OUT OF THE PROP.

the exhaust if its a through prop would come from the hub of the prop. I run a ob and have to pump my oil out through the fill.

if it is a through prop exhaust then the water would be a little dirty but should subside quickly

Are you raising the outdrive before you are looking back there? I could be from your tilt/trim cylinders.
