I have recently acquired a 1987 VIP 17.5 ft. bass boat. I am not sure what model it is. It has a 1987 125 hp Force on it. Everything seems to be in order with it but I would like to obtain an owners manual. Any contact or calls to the factory remain unanswered. I live in Wisconsin and there are no local VIP dealers around. Any help please?

Ayuh,... There's virtrally no such thing as a Boat owner's manual,...
For yer motor, there's aftermarket manuals, as Force is no longer around...

I'm looking for an owners manual for the boat... NOT the motor.

lots of relatively new boaters ask for this exact same thing, big question is why? Take away all the controls and motor, the only thing that's left is a fiberglass (or metal) hull. Not really much to put into a manual. (and in fact, most manuals are very, very similar to your states 'basic boat safety' book, at least all the manuals I've seen) So if you really want to do some reading on boats, pick that up instead.

Re: VIP owners manual

go the bayliner forum and search for the us marine phone #. I think they made/purchased the VIPs also and they will send you what they have for free. I got a copy for my 1987 bayliner last year. We are not allowed to post phone #s here sorry or I would.
