Voice Activated recorder

I ran into a little trouble here, so I am looking into getting a voice activated recorder. I need something small to fit into a shirt pocket, and be unobtrusive. But, I would also like a remote miniature microphone for those times I am outside witha jacket on. I don't want the jacket to muffle the conversation.

Does any one know a place to start looking for one?
