Volvo 290 Outdrive Center Socket

Some dummy working on my outdrive while its in storage cracked the center socket for the ujoint shaft while changing the joints. One of the ears cracked while he was inserting ujoint at an angle. Yokes are fine with lots of meat.

I am wondering if anyone knows what the replacement part is or if its available for this outdrive. (89-91 290 VP)

Top Center.

Any help would be great! BTW, the dummy was me, i got a little excited, things were going too well.

This is why I just bring these down to a machine shop and have them put them in. They have the presses and have done them thousands of times.

I have presses too, even pullers. Also have changed plenty of ujoints. The ear was thin, wasn't paying close enough attention, now it will cost me more. I completely understand that. I searched looking for someone else who may have had the same issue, didnt find, so I asked.

Call them and see if they can give you accurate measurements on that part and see if it matches your old one.
