Volvo 5.7GSI Bogs down when opened up

I bought a 2000 Regal 2500 with a low hour Volvo 5.7GSI Penta duel prop. The boat has a fresh tune up by the mechanic who sold it to me. He told me not to open it up until I ran a fresh tank of gas through it since it hasn't been used in a while and likely had old fuel. I have now done that. It ran and runs very smooth until I open it up, when it bogs down before starting to increase its RPMS and sound more like a normal boat running over 30mph. It never does reach what I've read to be the proper speed or RPM though. Any help would be appreciated.

Ayuh,... You need Fresh Fuel Filters to go with your Fresh Fuel...

It's Starvin' for Gas....

Thanks! I'll give that a try. They had just put in a new impeller, 8 new plugs and a gimble bearing. I'm shocked that a fuel filter wasn't done at that service but it's sure not on the service ticket. Thanks Again!

Ayuh,... Even if it Was,... You just ran a tank of Junk through it....
