Volvo 7.4L Vortec

In what year did Volvo Penta start using the Vortec heads on the 7.4L. I know my "LK" is non Vortec and it was produced between 96 and 97.

What is the easiest way to tell externally? I know the non-Vortec is missing the exhaust port that connects to the intake manifold.

Vortec Heads,.... Have Only the 8 bolts attaching the Intake Manifold,.........The Center 4 are Missing.......

Non-Vortecs have 12 bolts..........
