Hello

I need a bit of help. I fitted electronic ignition to my distributor. After adjusting distributor counterclock wise to 6 ? btdc but clamp down slotted bracket is over the hole for the bolt. If I adjust the distributor to allow the bolt to be fitted the timing is at 0 ? btdc.
Could someone help. Can I remove the distributor and and adjust ? What way would I adjust ?

Thanks David

The Distributor can be pulled out, turned, and reinstalled. The issue is the oil pump needs to be aligned. Remove cap and note the position of the rotor button in reference with the distributor housing. Turn the rotor button in the direction you want the housing to be turned. Then slide the distributor back in, then turn the housing to the point that it aligns with the housing.

Note when the distributor gets pulled out it will rotate to the left slightly as it is removed. This same amount of movement will be subtracted from the position when the distributer is reinstalled. If the distributer will not reinstall where you want it to be installed, the oil pump may need to be turned with a screw drive to align with the distributor

Hello

Thank you for your reply. You were spot on with you description. I though it could be taken out and rotated but was unsure what way to go.
Distributor now secured down and set to 6? BTDC.

Thanks Again David
