I am wondering what the best alternative is to use in place of Volvo Penta Sealing Compound 1141570 that is required on the plug and hose nipple on the manifold (I'm assuming the plug too).
I found information here where Don states a little grease is all that is needed in place of the Volvo Sealing Compound for a different application.
I also found information that states Permatex Aviation Form A Gasket is a good alternative -- haven't seen that yet in the store.
Found a Volvo manual that references Permatex 679 - which I can't find reference to a 679 on the Web anywhere.
Or, there is always Permatex High Temp Thread Sealant which resists leakage and moisture.
Which is the best candidate on threads being inserted into the manifold?
