After replacing the timing belt on my motor i had the boat out to test. The motor seems to run just fine now however i cannot seem to get it to go past about 10mph. I had the boat under throttle and heard a sort of a pop noise from the engine compartment. I later examined and determined that one of my 6 bolts from the crankshaft was missing and that may have flew off during it running. From that point on i cannot seem to get it to go faster than 10 mph. I use to get it to 25-30mph with not problem. I do know that i have a leak in my sea water pump and need to replace the gasket and the impeller. When i accelerate i notice that i hit a sort of a plateau with accelerating and once i get to a certain point i notice no difference in speed or RPM . I first thought it was my shift cable but it seems to rev high past my plateau when running on land. Then i thought it was over heating because of the leaky gasket and worn impeller. I also wonder if my water pump is not pumping water to the exchanger to goo things as well.Any suggestions?
