Hi folks, I have a 1996 Wellcraft with a 4.3L and a Holley carb. I just rebuilt the carb and it purrs like a kitten. It does have a bit of hesitation on acceleration and I am wondering if anyone has a good process for setting the accelerator pump. It is simply an arm that pumps gas into the primary chamber but I recall that it can have an impact on fast acceleration. It could also be bad gas but I doubt that as it is only a few months old and I stabiled it before I winterized. Any ideas or am I missing something.

Could just need a tuneup. Plugs, cap, & rotor. Check the timeing, then adjust the carb. Could also be you have the carb adjusted too lean, even excessively rich will cause it. Did you adjust the carb while it was running? What method did you use???
