the wire are for alarms. check all your hoses and connectors for leaks.

There is an excellent article on the VRO, including upgrade information, at the following link:

If the gasoline line is blocked in any way, the VRO will continue to pump oil into the engine until it stops.

Have you tested the pump already? What brings you to think it needs replacing. Follow the flow chart above or try this manual test BEFORE BUYING NEW.

Using the diagram for reference at the bottom of the page, install a 10" length of 1/4" clear vinyl hose to oil inlet on pump. A few inches from the loose end, measure carefully, and mark hose every 1/2" for 3 inches.
Fill the hose with outboard oil and run the engine to eliminate air from the base of the hose. Shut off engine, and add or eliminate oil until level is even with the highest mark.
Start the engine, and watch the pump cycles by using a fuel pressure gauge or by putting light finger pressure on the outlet hose.

FINDINGS:

At 800 RPM, the oil level in the hose should drop 1" in about 5 pulses.
At WOT, the oil level should drop 1" in about 3 pulses.

Sorry Ezeke, typing at same time.

Thank you All for your advice. I tried to start the engine but it didn't work. It could be anything at this point. like I said I just bought the boat. because of the oil and fuel leak from the VRO. I do not know if i should go preMix or rebuild the one I have. In case I decided to go pre mix, can I mix the centric oil 50:1 ?

To switch to premix, the correct gasoline to TCW-3 Oil ix is 50:1. Be sure to provide for the mix to fill the lines and float bowls on the carburetors before running.

You can then block the oil fitting on the VRO pump, remove the oil line and tank and disconnect the wiring harness(es) leading to and from the pump.

Edit: If the pulse limiter is black, it needs to be updated to the blue and gold one.
