Yes I do have a factory manual for this engine and yes I've seen that same Warning.

I have a few of the factory clamps on hand and yes they do get brittle over time. Advantage for me is there is a dealer close by that I can get them from.

Anyways it doesn't look like the weather is going to improve until about Sunday. We actually got sleet and snow this morning!

The pressures on these fuel systems are very low.---I use ty-wraps and they do a wonderfull job.----Posters here will not influence the way I do my work.

Thanks again racer, I've been using zip ties for a long time also w/o a problem and was just curious to know if these VRO pumps were that sensitive or prone to hose leaks.

UPDATE.

Finally got some time and good weather to get back to this thing. So I ended up breaking it all down again. Went thru the fuel pump, pulled the large fuel filter from the VRO system, replaced a couple hoses and cut back a couple others. Replaced all the hose clamps and then went thru the carbs for a second time.

Hooked it all back up and amazingly it popped right off and this time it kept running. Sounds pretty strong but the proof will be a water test on the boat. Hope to get that done this weekend if the weather holds up again.

Then if all works out well I may just consider doing the VRO pump upgrade and then keep it on the Alumacraft, as it is 4 years newer than the 60hp Twin that is on there now. Then I can throw the 12gal tank in the boat and not have to premix so that at the end of season I can just use up that gas in the snow blower!

If I get a boat ride this weekend with it I'll post up a quick results.

Run 3-5 seconds then it was like it was out of fuel.
It was never going to be a fuel pump or air leak problem, they will run for minutes not seconds on what's in the float bowls.

Well whatever it was had to be fuel related because that's the only thing I worked on.
