Ok, so i was out fishing yesterday and it was in the 80's here in nashvegas. Anyway my old lemonrude starts its crap again. I remove the cowl and start checking around my feul system for leaks and notice that my vro pump is leaking what looked to be raw gas from the oil side of the vro. I'm pretty sure no gas is supposed to be on that side but there it was slowly leaking out. I've gotten into the habit of pumping my primer bulb everytime i run to another spot and was noticing my primer clicking everytime i do this. Anyway i've took the thing apart before and tried to reseal it with no luck apparently. Its introducing air into the system since the primer doesn't stay primed. Its time to either buy a new pump or do away with it completely. I've tried a electric fuel pump once and noticed it just didn't run right with that thing on it, seemed to not be getting enough gas.
I'm not going to just disconnect the oil side because i'm afraid thats not going to do it. This is the original vro pump that came on this motor. The fuel side is apparently leaking through to the oil side, no horn's though? So it wasn't a big leak apparently, but enough to keep losing prime on the fuel system.
Is there a place that sells the vro pump at a price cheaper than the $400 bucks i see most places? Anyone got a part number on a replacement fuel pump that i can premix with? I've heard i'd need two standard fuel pumps to get enough fuel to it, plus i'd have to fabricate some sort of bracket for them. Any suggestions would help, thanks.
