Most likely be a good idea to have said conehead go into the registry to get all of the Norton out .

Jumping from 98 to XP will render half of the softwares useless and the other half will cause XP to be unstable and more likely to crash. This is a unique characteristic of a WinSlow machine. Besides, an XP operating system will set you back $100. Throw in another $300, you can get a brand new up to date machine with XP installed. A cd/dvd burner maybe included as well.

A WinSlow machine is designed from a business perspective with strict limitation. Sell as many as you can; as fast as you can. No room to expand. A mother board that is 2 years old is obsolete.

Yep. Put $375.00 to the $125.00 and you can get twice the computer with 512 Memory,100 Gig HD and a Burner. And it will have a much faster processor and no glitches...That's what I did about 6 months ago when I found out 98 would not be supported. Never looked back.... The only thing that did not work with XP was my old flatbed scanner. It was due for replacement anyway. I already have a HP 4 in1 setup, So I hardly ever used the flatbed. AVG, Ad-Aware and Spybot and a good firewall and it hums along...
