Wallyworld, I have had enough

I needed a few things the other day like underwear, (see dog thread) and I had finished a day of work I would rather forget. I had been to Walmart the Saturday before and had the usual experience.

The Walmart experience:
I got a great parking spot, close enough that I could almost see the building. Froze my tail off walking to the store and they greeted me at the door and hand me a cart the size of a baby stroller and I venture in. The store is packed and the isles are just wide enough for 2 carts to pass each other. The problem is there is a womans butt that is 2X wider than the cart, has tunnel vision, is deaf, blocking my path and the concept of touching her and asking her to hoist that bucket out of the way so I can get through isn't worth it. So after she steam loads in some Sams brand cheeze puffs, nacho chips, hershey bars, and a six pack of slim fast, I am allowed to pass, but only after a dirty look.

I continue on procededing in a zig zag pattern to avoid traffic jams, I reach the engine oil. The price is unbelievable. 98 cents for a name brand 5w-30 oil.. Hot dog. As I walk up I notice a big hole in the display and a guy with about 30 quarts in his stroller walking away. A great price on something I can't have. :(

As the shopping trip continues I go down the dog food isle and guess what???? Cheese puff lady's twin sister has her huge set of mudflaps covering the entire isle while she evaluates the 60lb bag of ol' Roy. Education didn't appear all that important cuz' it takes what seems like forever for her to evaluate what is the best deal. Hint: The big bag. After figuring it out she is not able to load the bag into her cart she sends off this farrell child to find "Oscar". At this point I had had enough.

I pick up things on the way to the checkout like deodorant, and really cheap peanuts, and make it to the counter to check out. After about 15 minutes of waiting the little girl asks if I found everything ok. Yea found where it was, just couldn't get to it, and when I did it wasn't there. They are always nice there and they do look at you when they check you out. I really like that. I froze all the way to the other end of the parking lot and fought a traffic jam of other eager shoppers trying to enter and exit through what was little more than an alley.

On the trip Wed. I went to K-mart. I got rock star parking, a full sized cart, full shelves, a quiet and easy shopping experience, and an immediate checkout.

Score: Walmart: 45 minutes
Kmart: 15 minutes

I think maybe someone can take on this giant by exposing their weaknesses. Kmart was by far a better trip and I didn't feel like the prices were any different. If it cost me a buck or two more big hairy deal. When I was done I didn't need to drop a prozack.

How do you all feel?

Re: Wallyworld, I have had enough

I feel your pain!

I always like the welfare mom and her 10 kids stretched clear across the isle, walking a snails pace and little Johnny picking his nose and grabbing everything in his path.

Then there's the woman (always a woman) who has to write the infamous check and take forever doing it. They NEVER have it partially filled out and ready.

And one of the big toppers... The hell-bent screaming child running loose around the store and the INCONSIDERATE, LAZY-a** parents who don't do a thing about it.

Our Walmart isn't too bad as long as you watch which days of the week you go.
Forget around the 1st., when the welfare checks are cut. Stay out of the store!

H.

Re: Wallyworld, I have had enough

That the main reason I don't go shopping in department stores.

Amen to online shopping! Usually free shipping, no state tax, no traffic, and it comes right to my door.

When I do need to shop, I go to the mom and pop places to support the little guys. I don't mind paying more to eliminate the hassle of competing for isle space.

The size of the Walmart stores and the number of people who frequent them is a accident waiting to happen. With all the crap they have in the front of the store by the check out lanes is a fire hazard. Seems to me that they are the only ones that can arrange their products like that and not get a violation. Lowes, Home Depot and other large department stores leaves plenty of room at the check outs.

I feel for you Pointer. Hope you have a better day! :D

And you forgot to mention the Wallyworld employees, (if anyone works there or has a friend that works there, sorry) honestly, they are the dumbest people I have ever met. Half of them can't speak a lick of english and they are so friggen rude. The ones that can speak english are too busy talking about how hot Susie in homegoods is

Hey Snapper, can't you use them on their website? It would save the hassle of going there. Just a thought....

Re: Wallyworld, I have had enough

Last week I wasin walmart while the kids were at
karate, so I had an hour to kill. In the hunting
section they had a clear out on stuff. I picked
up a antler "rattler" bag style, on sale for under
ten bucks. Normally they are $24.99. So I make my
way over to sporting goods to get some 22lr bullets.
I wait around looking at fishing tackle because
there is no one there at the counter to assist me.
Finlay I decide to pick up the phone sitting near
the register and hit the page button."Customer
assistance to sporting goods I announce as it
comes over the loud speaker,( I did it twice)
I'm not really in a hurry as I have time to kill.
Finlay some one comes over to the department.
They don't have any keys to open the ammunition
cabinet so they call for help. Anyway to make a
long story shorter Finlay they get me my 22lr
boxes from some were else inventory I assume.
So the manager from up stairs is now involved says
he wants to apologize for my inconvenience
"approx 30 minutes". So he gives me the rattler
no charge and discounts the two bricks by almost
half price. So for $20.00 I left feeling pretty
good. And thats the end of my walmart story.

Re: Wallyworld, I have had enough

My Wal-mart can either be a joy to behold, or your worst nightmare. I usually go early Sunday morning, and it is like a tomb. Maybe a few customers, shelves are fully stocked. Now, going on a Saturday afternoon or any week day after 5:00 pm is about like asking to be whacked in the head with a tack-hammer. My town only holds 6000 people, and we get a lot of people from the outlying areas, but it can be a nightmare. Christmas is always fun.

I go into Wal Mart feeling like Martha Stewart and come out feeling like Jeffrey Daumer(sp).

The cashier's are rude, the isles are crowded, kids take on rebellious behavior, I'm always 9th in line behind couponers and always manage to receive ankle and/or finger cart injuries.

I avoid Wal Mart if I can.

Hooty certain ones are allowed to say things I guess,
Reminded me of a mental hospital, with a few white trash welfair mouthers throw in for kicks.
And needs to curse in every post.
Of course I won't mention no names because that would be flaming one now wouldn't it.

Re: Wallyworld, I have had enough

POINTER94 I do apologize for my remarks wasn't in no way trying to derail your thread. In retrospect to your comment I was going out to eat last night and then a trip by wally world so I copied your good and well worded statement printed it off (with no ID of course :D ) and put it on the bulletin board at wally world. I to encounter these semen-less escapades to wally world and restrain from going there unless it is at 3 AM .
Will make a trip over there this am and see if it is still up. Maby someone will get a hint :D
