Wanted ! Shift lever for 1985 Evinrude 6 - 8HP

I have a snapped off shift lever on my Evinrude model E6SLCOB and need pn 0389569 (original) or new pn 0397702 6HP - 8HP is the same.<br /><br />Anyone have one? BRP is currently down else I could give more engines that are the same.

I work for a small OB shop that was an OMC dealer awhile back and we still have piles of carcus donors and some new stock if the search doesnt pan out.<br /> I can check it out and get you an answer or call George Sorensen of Sorensen Marine in Seattle at 206 767 4622 if you really need it quick.He will need to search if I dont get to it first.<br /> White or light metallic Blue?<br /> Tim Mattson

Thanks, no big rush, I have the engine in pieces waiting for the part. I think this one is a bit special as the shaft is like a hex head shape. Color needed in light blue evinrude.

FishOn, <br /> I found a decent used one I have to extact from a carcus pan that is the shiny ,Light blu.The lever was black but now has faded in the weather.<br />It does have the square shaft that goes into the upper mid case and is considered "special" by its $79.99 OMC list price....The old man says he wants ~$40.00 for it and a few dollars to ship it if needed....He will paint it Blu for you too,with the real stuff.I will make a second pass thru the boneyard but this one looks like the bronze shaft isnt even tarnished and is the best one available.Our local OMC supplier is Seaway who would stabb you for the full $79.99 but it would be new,old stock item.<br /> You can e-mail me if desired and we can set you up with specifics.<br /> Tim M<br /> Sorensen Marine

Thanks Tim, I found one for $25 and hope to do better than that too. I know a new one is $70-$80 but I might just part out the motor and sell it on Ebay.<br /><br />Thanks
