I have a 1978? 15 ft banshee I would like to cut open the front and make it into a open bow. I work in fiberglass so the work isnt a problem would just like to know if this is possible or if there is anything I should be careful about.

Ayuh,...........

The "Deck" that you're going to Remove provides Alot of Structure, which equals Strength......

As long as you Add enough Structure,+ Strength to what you replace it with,.......
You Should be Fine........

Re: Wanting to convert my boat

I cut the front deck out of my 1970 Glastron V-153 and converted it to a center console arrangement. My neighbor had fiberglassing experience and would work for beers. The only structural addition we made was to install a forward casting platform made from 3/4inch plywood with a removeable hatch for storage. The platform was glassed into place and sealed with resin. I left the deck cap intact and removed the center area leaving only a very small forward deck for the combo light and chocks. Had to add some trim to finish off the raw edges from the cuts. The boat was great for nine years until our family outgrew it. Good luck with your project!
