Can someone tell me what the warning buzzer inside the throttle housing of a 1979 115hp Evinrude outboard indicates? Also is it likely that this buzzer would go off because of a short? I bought this engine last year and it has run very well. No problems to speak of. Last week the warning buzzer started to go off after the ignition key was bumped. If the key is moved slightly past the 'run' detent the buzzer occasionally goes off. When the key is returned to the run position the buzzer stops.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Buzzer will go off whenever you turn on ignition, lets you know its working. Should not stay on. Might be wire or connection problem between buzzer and ignition. Will go off if low oil pressure or too hot.
