buzzerworks proper at flip of ignition, however it goes off (sounds) after 3-5 min of riding. have to kill engine to reset alarm, but it does it time and time again,plenty of oil, new injector pump,brainbox changed out last year at a dealer in sumter s.c. bad box? 1987 150merc black max xr2

It could be a deffective heat sensor or it might really be hot. The next time it sounds off, pop the cowling open and feel and heads and see how hot they are. You should be able to hold your hand on the head for 4-5 seconds, about 140*. <br /><br />c/6<br />Hooty

Is your alarm a constant beep.. Or an intermittent beep,beep,beep?
