Hello, I,m new to this and I am thinking maybe I asked my question wrong.
Here it is in better wording.
I had a prop reworked to a 25p with added cup and it is on a 21 ft Conquest BR. I have a 260hp small block w/ Volvo Penta SX drive.
What I am noticing is at any speed on plane I have a lot of spray coming out of the water just off of the cavitation plate. With my 23p or smaller I have a nice wash with no spray. The boat planes nicely, hits just short of WOT and handles well. Is this spray normal for a higher pitch prop or is something amiss? Would a hydrofoil keep the water under better to give me more thrust or would I need trim tabs?
The boat was loaded with 50 gal fuel, three adults in the cockpit and no coolers or additional weight.
I topped at 53mph and am at a loss because my 23p gets me 51 with a heavy load.
Thank You.
