I wish Chevy would get with the program and come up with something! That Challenger is a concept car so if it goes it will most likely lose most of it appeal anyway.

As someone who is approaching this with an objective viewpoint. I think I am as good a judge on this as anyone. Originally a Pontiac guy I would take the GTO over all of these. <br /><br />BUT... I was at the Detroit Auto Show this year and got to see both the new Camaro as well as the new Challenger. Personally, I'd take the Challenger over the Camaro any day of the week.<br /><br /><br />Challenger<br />

Th only thing "Camaro" about that Camaro is the rear quarter panel. Nice try though. I like the Challanger better. GTO? I hope you're talking about the original cuz the current one looke like a warmed-over cavalier. The current GTO does nothing for me... Its a true sleeper car. But I do like the "proposed" body alterations in '08.<br /><br />

Watch out Mustang? Should read "Watch out Corvette". This new challenger is bada$$ all the way. Thank God they didn't take a Neon and put a Challenger sticker on it. I love it. My little bro is trying to get on the list to get one in 2009. I told him to wait, as I believe the first year will only have the 5.7 Hemi and then the big daddy 6.1 Hemi comes out the next year.

It'is a good looking body and probably would have and updated pushrod "Hemi". That should get a lot of folks that believe in the "Hemi" myth to buy it.<br /><br />While my "pony" and "muscle" car tastes run to more exotic hardware (spelled A M G), I still don't think it would outsell the latest iterations of the "stang", including the Shelby GT500.

The Challenger looks retro enough...but it was never a good-looking car to begin with. They may put an engine in it to make it outrun a Mustang, but Ford can always counter that move. That car will never knock the Mustang off the top of the sales mountain.

dogsdad, that was a 440 not a 383, but a good 383 might have got the job done with the right gears, in the the real world anyone knew who the Monsters of the Midway were and who owned the worlds longest drag strip, Woodward Ave. and it tweren't no Fords, It was MOPARS Bob
