Water coming out of rear LU drain holes while on muffs.

Quick question...is it normal for water to come out of the 2 rear drain holes on the LU while the engine is running on muffs? I installed a new powerhead water seal before I put the engine back on. Is it time for a waterpump rebuild kit? I used gasket maker in place of the lower gasket. Any help or input is appreciated. :)

Quite normal . but more important its it comming out of the pressure releif holes in the upper part of the lower unit and did you fit a pisser for peace of mind ?

Sorry I forgot to state that I have an 86 85hp force with 1 piece LU. Yes fucawi I have a dual pisser rigged up but it's only 1/8th" going to a dual 1/8th" outlet so it doesnt work that well yet. I have a 5/16th barb that I need to install in the spring. I havent had it on the water yet since the rebuild but it runs great and doesnt overheat on muffs so that's a good thing. The impeller is practically brand new..I replaced it right before the powerhead scored a cylinder a couple of years ago and it is still round at the tips. Although the water pump housing is pitted it still pumps water very well on muffs. Does the pressure release valve on the powerhead dump into the lower unit causing it to drain out of the holes in the LU?

Couple years ago??? Change it.You just rebuilt you wanna gamble the new head??
The 2 holes in the mid section:they can have water comming out or not.
They were designed to be a relief port for excess water when the motor runs at high speed.
Sometimes the relief valve works and sometimes they stick and don't work at all. Not a big deal.
Make sure the overheat buzzer is working.
Turn on the key and ground out the orange lead on the wiring harness on the port side of the motor. It should sound off when grounded.J

1/8 for the pisser thats fine you dont want it too big or you dont get a good jet ...many on yamaha etc are a lot less than 1/8
