My boat (1972 surfmaster 15' with 50 hp electric shift 'rude o/b) sits in the water May to October.

When I use it, there is always about an inch of water in the bilge. I use a new rubber plug. The boat does not seam to get heavier as the season progresses. It always sits at the same depth in the water and planes as well at the beginning as end of season.

Hull does not seem damaged except for a significatn amount of crazing.

Should I be concerned? Does the water come in from the plug?

Tx.

Re: Water in Bilge

check out my post "help stopping leak". just a few down on the page. i have the same issue i'mn trying to correct. i plan on replacing the entire drain plug assembly ($3 on iboats) and also replacing my cheap plastic thru-hull for the baitwell with a new bronze fitting. hopefully that does the trick for me. good luck-
