Vent and fill screw seals, drive shaft seal, propshaft seal, exhaust housing o-ring, shift shaft o-ring, crack in housing. Damage depends on how long water has been there, and how much time in use under power. If oil is just milkey, you probably don't have any damage. Drain some oil and check for metal particles.

LOT's of ways to get in as DavieT says. If it sat in there for years unused you could have rusted out drive gears. If you have been running it all summer with no problem and just noticed milky lube during a periodic oil change, I am sure you are fine. Tell us the conditions you noticed the problem and we can tell you more.

Also, this is why we use Marine Gear Lube. It is designed to protect things even when you get some water in there. Auto Gear Lube doesn't.

Agree with above. Drain / fill seals are what you hope for and no damage within.

is there anything on that engine that isn't screwed up, seems you're posting about something else every week. Is it just a run of bad luck?

Been one thing after another -
I thought i had it about lined out so i thought last thing to do was service LU-
Oil was like coffee with milk in it :(
Used Seafoam & air compresser to clean it best i could & filled with new oil -
Guess i'll find out if it works this weekend-If it don't i'm about ready to unbolt it from the boat (in the middle of the lake)

I had the same problem, cappucino oil,
Mechanic said $375 , new $1 seals on the drain screws fixed it.

Did you remove prop and check for monofilament fishing line on the shaft, that can tear the seal up if left unchecked.
New stainless steel cotter pin on the prop nut retainer too.:p
