26' Bertram with Bravo 3 drive. Installed new Gimbal Unit, to new drive.
After sea trials there is water (milk) in the trim and tilt system.

I believe the water was sucked into the open pressure hoses which I left patent and lying in the bilge. Stupid me.

Thing is, how can I remove and replace the oil without hauling the boat?

Thanks

Well, if the water intrusion in the tilt/trim was truly from lines left open inside the boat, and they are now tight, no more water will get in.
So I would try pumping the tilt/trim reservoir dry with a little siphon pump and add new oil. Cycle it several times and do it again. It won't get ALL the water out, but it might get most/enough, so as to make the oil not milky?

I was thinking along those lines. To be frank the engine was out of the boat for about 3 months and I believe the water was somehow sucked into the open pipes.

There is no leak now as no oil is lost when operating the pump.

I'll give it a shot.

Thanks for the info.
