water logged foam

I have a 87 mark twain 175 BR and I took it out the other day for the first time and noticed it felt very heavy on the starboard side and it was hard to turn starboard as well... never really planed and reached a top speed of about 30-35 at 4500 with me and my wife in the boat (300lbs). I've heard this could be due to water logged foam, but my prop is also quite worn so I'm not sure how to tell. Any help would be appreciated.

If the bow came down you were planeing, you'll need to take some core samples in the stearn to see if your hauling water.

Have the boat wieghed. Weigh the boat and trailer, then launch the boat and weigh just the trailer by itself. That should tell you how much the boat weighs. Post the weight on here and other members can tell you how much theirs weighs.

I do not trust NADA for boat weight. Consult a brochure or manual to find the dry wieght, then minus add 125 pounds to compensate for fuels and oils and any gear you may have left in there.
