Season's over. Went and pulled the pontoon outa the water at the lake today.....After draining the block/manifolds ect, i did a once over and noticed the trim pump tank looked a funny color...unscrewed the cap and had a milkshake color to it. Didnt have much time to investagate as it was getting dark.

Just wanted to get some ideas before i go back next weekend. We have a guy that picks it up and stores it for the winter so i might have to wait untill next year to fix it.

Alpha one drive. With a plastic trim pump tank

So where do you think the water is coming from?

Thanks

I take it that the trim hoses have never been replaced that you know of?

My Maxum had a hose with a leak that the selling dealer found and replaced before I took possession then on the 2nd time out I found an oil slick behind the boat and found another hose leaking.

How I diagnosed which hose was with it on the trailer and out of the water, I had my son move the drive up and down and while I closely looked at each hose and found the failed hose. Needless to say, I replaced all 3 so as not to have to bleed out all the bad "liquid" more than 1 time.

Hoses have never been replaced or been off the drive since we owned it......goning on 4th year. It sits in the water all summer and proly the last time i checked it was labor day weekend. Ill have to get all the green crud off the drive to see anything.

Thanks mark great idea.

If I were you, I would fix it now. Milky water/oil in the tank says the same might be in your lower. If you wait 'til Spring, the lower may be cracked from freezing.
