I removed the lower unit today to get to the water pump. When I took off the water pump housing I couldn't get off the collar that was under the housing. How do I get it off? Thanks a lot guys, I have pics so you can see what I'm talking about. Thanks

I use a flat-head on top of another screw driver like a sea saw to get a little leverage under it then just kept working my way around. Some wd-40 also doesn't hurt.

I believe that the removal of that interference fit collar causes damage to it and it should be replaced with a new one during pump replacement....

It looks fine but 80% of the work is done.Your choice if you want to give up.

Nothing looks wrong with it but if it were me...I'd change it. You have all broken down so why not? That way you have a new one in there and won't have to worry far a couple of years perhaps. Just make sure you install it correctly so the rotation is in the right direction.

Kinda looks like the collar has separated from the impeller....if so...a wood chisel will cut that collar and impeller off with just a couple of whacks....GL
