Water pump replacement 69 9.5HP

Need to change water pump , don’t have a manual, I know to take the 4 bolts out but what about linkage to change gears. Not my motor trying to help someone out. I do have a 57 35HP that I upkeep . Can someone help ? Thanks
Motor is a 1969 9.5 Johnson (that is a well neglected motor) ? Got it running but got a lot of issues .

Take the 4 screws out.----Operate shift handle so you get a gap / room the take one screw out of the connecter.

Got it thanks. Had a hard time loosing the bolt on shifting rod , was steel but got a nut driver to squeeze in .
