Terry, To expand on what ZmOz said. One of the six bolts is hidden under the zinc anode above and behind the prop. Use a 1/2" socket on a 3/8" extension through the hole behind the water gratings above the antiventilation plate, to remove the anode, and expose the bolt.<br /><br />Make sure you do not change the shift shaft position, when the LU is off. I leave it in neutral, and it seems to work.<br /><br />When you are installing the new water pump impeller, pry up the water bump base and put on the new o-ring and base gasket that cane with the kit. Also watch for the drive shaft key that turns the impeller. If the shaft has corroded, you may need a bit of sandpaper to remove enough corrosion to get the water pump cover off.<br /><br />When assembling, make sure you put the white plastic tube into the waterpump outlet. You must then slip the white plastic tube over the copper water tube in the motor's midsection. Turn the flywheel as you install the lowerunit, so the splines align.
