water pump??

I have a 27 year old Lowe 24 foot pontoon beast and after about $800 in aluminum welding she still takes on a tiny bit of water in the toons. makes it hard to stay out more than 4-5 hours before it gets sluggish with the weight of water.

I have engineered a solution that would connect 3/8 ID tubing to the plugs and draw water from the bottom of the toons without ahving to cut the toons or drill into them. the only thing that I am missing is a 12V water pump that can pull the water out. I tried a RULE live/aerator pump but it has to be primed to start drawing, and the regular bilge pumps wont pull from a hose. doea anyone have a link or recomendation on a 12 water pump that might be able to draw this water up thorught he hose?

thanks in advance for the help - this forum is always the best place to go for help.

trying to get the lift needed is the problem. where are you wanting to mount the pumps.

yes, that is going to be the challenge, with this configuration, the pumps would be above rear end of the toon in the storage housing, about 20 inches directly above the water intake (at the plugs)

I know that a proper bilge pump will do it but that would mean cutting into the toon and then reseaoing it - thats not difficult, but it means cutting into again when the pump needs service or replacement. that's waht I am trying to avoid.

any ideas?

How about presurizing the tank to push the water back out?

Don't pressurize very high or you will be looking for new tubes.
