the water pump on my 9.? hp didn't want to pee yesterday after around 5 minutes I got it to pee... I hope I don't need a water pump already, cause the dealer in mo doesn't answer phone calls. ??? but on the good side I caught a ton of crappie yesterday an today. will try again tomorrow nothing super big all around 11 inches

Often, the issue is debris in the pee tube. To cure that, while the motor is running (in water, of course), slide a stiff wire into the pee tube to dislodge any debris, which will then be pushed out with the water.

Years ago I found that there were little bugs that like to make their nest out of mud and other debris in small openings, such as the outlet of the pee tube. Whenever I find no water coming out I clean out the tube and everything works fine. Luckily, that has been my only problem pertaining to cooling water I have ever had on an outboard. Dave
