Re: water pump

Hi papasage....don't think you will see much coming from these ports until the T-stats open. What comes out then is usually a "spray" type of output as most of the water output is through the exhaust cavity and out the prop hub. If engine is runnig a good temp and a little is coming out, should be good to go.

Re: water pump

thanks jim . i let it run in a tank till the head got hot enough that i just could hold my finger on it till the count of 5 . the 5 was quick . seams like that was as hot as it got . bringing the rpms up would let water come out of the ports .thin it would cool down . at idle no sign of a spray . was wondering if i need to change the plate under the pump. papasage thanks

Re: water pump

Best way to find the leak is to drain out the lube and put a few pounds of air in the lower unit and put her in the tank. Leaks will show up right away. Knowing what seal is leaking makes it easier than guessing or replacing them all again.

Re: water pump

great to see you got the 70hp going. Still working on the 50hp. fuel pump leaking. runs great though. do not want to run it too much with leaking fuel, that could be bad. fired up the 40hp. carb overflows. could be stuck from the ride to OK. by the way, THANKS for the forms you filled out and sent back. Wikelam from OK.
