Re: Water rushing out from starboard side of motor

Ya might want to try the rubber stopper for a temp fix to make sure you have no other leaks before you pull the engine....;)

I was actually planning on this. I've had enough of the boat for 1 day... Ill continue tomorrow. (After I go shooting of course, ;))

I also had another concern. Being that I only had the motor running for a minute at most, I would have figured the T-stat would have kept that water from running through the engine since it wasn't at operating temp yet. Is that core plug before or after the T-stat in relation to water flow through the cooling system? Im wondering if I have a t-stat stuck open by chance.

You're alittle Confused,.......

The T-stat stops water from Leaving the Block,....... Not Entering.....

As soon as the motor is Started,.... It Fills with Water.......

The thermostat opens to allow hot water out. The water pump (mounted on the engine) will keep a slight head of pressure on the water in the block (sealed in by the core plugs, except in your case). If any were to leak out, then the pump would just fill (or attempt to fill) it right up again.:D
