can you install a water seperator on a 2cyc premixed system? I have a johnson 50 disconnected the vro, but since i duck hunt and its cold now..lol.. i get a lot of condesation in the fuel, just wondering if the filter would actually filter the oil out as well making a lean mixture or is it ok to do? thanks for the help

Waterdog,
Russ is right on about the filter. In fact, it is very highly recommended to have one. I know that I would never again run without one. That moisure and water in the fuel can be a nightmare. This is from experience. The filters do nothing to the oil. They only remove the water that may flow through them. The oil will readily pass on through the filter to the engine, along with the filtered fuel. Racor makes a very good W/S filter and can be drained. Here is a link:

web page

H2Odog,

2 stroke oil will flow through just about any micron filter that gasoline will.

It's fine and recommended to use a water strainer set up.
