When I took my LU off, to put in new seals and a new skeg welded on, the water tube slidout about 4 inches. So I pushed in as far as it would go and I heard a click. I guess the only way to know if it is seated is to shoot water up there with a hose and hope it comes out the relief vents.
I finally got my tilt/trim fix and hopefully fixed my water leak into my gearcase plus a new skeg. Once I get all my parts back I plan to install. But the biggest thing I need is some warmer weather.

Re: Water tube

York has never been known for warm winters!!!
The tube, get a light and look up inside and see if you can see it in the right place??
If you don't it won't cool right.
It can work if it's back in place, the pressure from the lower unit holding it in place might work???
Otherwise the powerhead has to come off. Just hope the click isin't the flange breaking loose???
