Re: water under new deck

If you were my neighbor, I would have had my boat finished at the start of the season and done correctly.

d:) Also, did you notice EricKems post about his vents? It may be, since you said that the hoses attached to those vents weren't going anywhere, that they have been detatched from pipes in front of the gas tank- perhaps. Just a guess.

I think it would also pay off to take a look at that style of vent in other boats to see if they are installed correctly. My guess is, that the pipe inside the vent cowl is supposed to stick up higher, which would keep water from getting in the pipe, but not restrict air flow into the pipe.

Re: water under new deck

I pulled the hoses just before the 3 day rains began on Sunday.
One was 12" long the other 25". The two vent holes go through the deck and through 4" channels on the deck underside.
The channels were formed over cardboard tubes. There are a total of 5 tubes: one runs dwwn the center, and the others toward the outsides, and all come together at the bow. The weird part is, they dead end at the dashboard.
So it looks like the dryer hose could go into the channels, but for what purpose? The holes would only be on the top of the channel and not all the way through if they were meant to go in the channel, and there would be no deadend.
It seems more likely that the channels are only there to add strength and stifness to the deck.
Did the manufacturer simply add vents to look cool?
I don't see any evidence that there was a way for water to drain to the bidge from the hoses in the bow.
